zoofari
one of the best events to go to in june!
|
Time goes by SO quick at Zoofari because there is seriously so much to do! Live music, raffles, giveaways, and games were all scattered around, leaving no excuse for anyone to not have fun! As a foodie, I just can't get over the fact of how much food was seriously there. I took time to get to know local vendors and smaller businesses, which was super cool because everyone that was a part of this event, truly enjoyed the product/company they represented/created which makes me love those places even more! It is apparent that the Columbus Zoo takes a lot of time to get these kind of events in order, and this one did not disappoint. Yeah, sure- it may've rained a couple hours into the event, and of course I wish it wouldn't have. But I brought a poncho, umbrella, and water-resistant shoes so that my fun wouldn't stop on the rains account (*because dedication*). The best part about this event (besides all of the grazing, dancing and exploring), was that while we were all enjoying all things fun there, we were also benefiting the Zoo's conservation education programs! The proceeds from Zoofari provide resources and funds towards conservation research, building capacity among local populations, strengthening environmental education, while promoting community involvement, as well as fostering behavior change that benefits both animals and people. As of today, $4 million privately raised funds have helped support 70 projects in 30 countries for conservation efforts around the world!
