Fiery Foods fest

Fiery Foods Festival!

Restaurants, hot sauce vendors, and exhibitors from all around the country showcased their fiery sauces and products at this fest. But if you're wondering if this event lived up to its "Fiery" name, I'd say so.
As soon as you walk up to the main entrance of the fest, you can see over 15 hot sauce vendors all lined up waiting to serve you samples of their finest stuff. I would be lying if I said I paced my self while I was there. I actually went into the event with absolutely no game plan or strategy at all. As a person who loves hot sauce & trying (all da free) samples, I was so pumped with energy, my initial instinct was to just dive right into the fiery pit of sauces. I started from the front entrance and attempted to sample my way to the end.

I was fine at first, throwing back sauces left and right. All flavors, all spice levels, pretty much anything...I drank (I mean tried) it. But by the 8th vendor, it caught up with me. I was a leaky mess. Mouth, eyes, and nose taking over my fun, and literally getting the best of me. But I'm not a quitter. So I did what any rational person would do when their body is overheating in all the ways... Cool off with a nice ice cold, spicy margarita.  I obviously also got water afterwards because #responsible, but spiked refreshments were a must. After I replenished, I also went ahead and stuffed my pockets with tissues, because I also forgot to do that in the beginning. And you WILL need them. [Tip for the future]

After we made it down the line of vendors, we took a break from our hot sauce eating mission and went over to the other side of the fest to use up some of our food tickets to sample some of the bites from the food trucks that were there.
Overall, the hot sauce vendors completely stole the show for me and left me highly impressed with all of those vendors. Being able to try unlimited copious amounts of hot sauce just gets me excited. But I also loved the fact that the Fiery Fest also had a ton of competitions going on during the event as well. Like pizza eating contests, best home-made hot sauce competitions, and other cool stuff like that. Was also a huge fan of the cute little commemorative engraved fork as a take-home gift! Only suggestion would be to increase the portions of the food truck samples because ya girls gotta eat! But definitely worth checking out next year!
